Case Studies:
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Persons

Case studies cover the many cultural, socioeconomic and environmental factors that have impact on the LGBT patient population.  These scenarios cover issues of appropriate response and more effective patient encounters. 
The following are chosen from the AETC-NMC collection of case studies and focus on scenarios involving LGBT persons:
Case Study 5 Carol, a 35-year-old woman of African descent, comes to the clinic for a follow-up visit after having an HIV test. Upon receiving her results through the post-counseling interview, it is discovered that Carol is really Carl, a 35-year-old man who has recently been released from prison. Read more...

Feng is a 22 year old Chinese American male who is gay and has had multiple partners over the last several years.
